Lead Counsel, Clinical Research Contracts - Lead counsel responsible for management of institution-wide clinical research contracting practice. Provide wide-ranging legal counsel to all levels of research enterprise including institution leadership, physician scientists, clinical operations, IRB, and technology licensing. Develop strategies to ensure efficient contract management focused on clinical protocol activation. Build strategic collaborative relationships with pharmaceutical industry partners. Coordinate with other institutional legal practice areas including regulatory, compliance, privacy, litigation, procurement, and corporate governance. Build and manage team of attorneys and legal professionals with a portfolio of 1000+ contracts per year. Negotiate array of transactions and agreements for clinical research activities including clinical trial agreements and collaboration agreements. Create institutional contract negotiation playbook including key provisions, substantive rationales, negotiation tactics, and escalation workflows.
